The cast of "The Avengers" was in high spirits this past weekend as they hit the Tribeca Film Festival to premiere their marvelous movie (too corny?), and we're not surprised. The film has already raked in a whopping $178.4 million overseas. When the film is finally released to U.S. audiences this weekend, we wouldn't be shocked if it broke a few box office records.
When MTV News caught up with Cobie Smulders to discuss future "Avengers" films, she said that a "S.H.I.E.L.D." movie isn't yet set in stone, but she'd love to be involved in any future projects.
"I mean, everything's up in the air right now. I know they're starting 'Iron Man 3' and then 'Thor ' and then 'Captain America' again. I don't know about S.H.I.E.L.D.'s involvement with all of them, but I hope to be a part of it."
When asked about what she hopes to accomplish as Maria Hill in the future, she didn't say character development or her relationship with other characters. Nope, Smulders got down to the good stuff. She said she'd like to get "more physical."
"I really loved doing stunts. And I hope that if we do more films that I can get more physical. I want to hit somebody with this," she laughs as she holds up her fist. "Is that intense?"
Maybe just a liiiiittle bit.
"I got to do a lot of this," she says with her hand making a gun motion, "but not so much this." She reverts back to her fist. "So, I'd like to do more of this."
We say give the actress what she wants! (Can you tell we really, really want them to make a separate "S.H.I.E.L.D." movie?)
