Will Hulk ever smash the big screen by himself again? The jury's out, it seems. Despite being the most popular character to come out of "The Avengers" by a landslide — no easy feat, considering the competition includes fan-favorite heroes like Iron Man and Thor — Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has said that there are no current plans for a solo "Hulk" film.
Movie prospects aside, we can keep our Hulk hopes alive on the small screen. The Hollywood Reporter caught up with the ABC network's entertainment president Paul Lee and learned that plans for a "Hulk" television series are definitely still on.
"Hulk is in development," he confirmed to THR. "It wasn't going to be ready this season but we hope it's going to be ready for next season."
It's a shame that "Hulk" wasn't ready for the upcoming season; the timing couldn't have been more perfect if anybody tried, what with the red-hot (or is that green-hot?) success of "The Avengers" this summer. But hearing that Guillermo del Toro's planned "Hulk" series is still alive is more than enough good news on its own, even if we're hoping for more details sooner than later.
Lee added that there are other Marvel projects on the horizon, but wouldn't elaborate on any particulars. Interestingly, THR notes that the "Punisher" TV series that was supposed to go at Fox is not going forward after all. Probably for the best, considering the initial pitch.
