Mark Ruffalo is getting a lot of love for "The Avengers," and why shouldn't he? The Oscar-nominated actor did the seemingly impossible in Earth's mightiest superhero movie by delivering a Hulk that not only works, but flourishes and steals the entire show. No easy feat for the Jade Giant, who has now made three big-screen appearances, with only one receiving near-universal adoration.
But — and I have no shame in admitting this — I'm an "Incredible Hulk" fan. I loved what Edward Norton did with Bruce Banner. I thought the second Marvel Studios film was an underrated blockbuster, one that wasn't nearly as flashy or obviously great as "Iron Man," but a strong movie all the same. I was disappointed to see Norton leave the franchise, even if I'm incredibly happy with the results in the end.
For Norton's own part, it doesn't appear that there's any bitterness between him and Ruffalo. The brave souls at HitFix recently asked Norton for his thoughts on the success of "Avengers" and the latest incarnation of Hulk, and the actor had nothing but good vibes to send in Ruffalo's direction.
"Mark is like a brother to me," Norton responded when asked for his take on the whole "Avengers" situation. "Besides, he's got two kids, and I'm really happy he gets to have this moment with them."
As for whether or not Norton's seen the fourth highest grossing movie of all time yet? The answer's no. "It just isn't very important to me," he reasoned. Fair enough, but it's nice to see he at least has good will towards his fellow Hulk actor.
