At this point, it sort of feels like we've seen already half of "The Amazing Spider-Man" either in a clip or as part of a TV spot. Today the thirteenth clip from the film and seventh TV spot have been released, both showing new elements from the forthcoming superhero movie that haven't been teased before.
Fortunately both new videos just get us more excited for the film, which hits theaters July 3. And as "The Avengers" has showed us, just because a studio has released a whole bunch of teases for a movie doesn't mean the film is ruined for fans by the time it comes out. We still need to find out what the heck happened to Peter Parker's parents, after all!
The new TV spot focuses on Peter's relationship with his Aunt May and Uncle Ben, two characters who have been overlooked in the movie's push to market Peter's search for his missing parents. But if "The Amazing Spider-Man" stays true to the "Spider-Man" comics at all (and we believe that it will), then May and Ben have a big role to play in Peter's adolescence and decision-making. Does he really get with Gwen Stacy because Aunt May told him to? Maybe. But we all know that with great power comes great responsibility.
The new clip (which doesn't have a high-def version yet, but you can watch over at ComingSoon.net) shows one of Spider-Man's run-ins with The Lizard. The scene ends with the now-familiar shot of Spidey in the sewers with The Lizard revealing himself with his tail behind the unsuspecting superhero, but hopefully Peter's spider senses allow him to realize that something is behind him. We're more concerned about the strange rat-like creatures running all over Spider-Man's web, though. That doesn't seem like it bodes well for the sewers of New York City.
