Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever a spider can — and apparently, "whatever a spider can" includes skateboarding like a lifelong pro!
Andrew Garfield webs up as Peter Parker in "The Amazing Spider-Man" next week, and when you see him on screen, you won't just be impressed by his wall-crawling ways — as you can see in the exclusive featurette below, Garfield's got some serious boarding moves as well.
"He can do things on a skateboard that people don't even fantasize about doing," producer Matt Tolmach says of his leading man in the featurette. "And he has fun with that. That's what's fascinating to watch."
For Garfield, "there's something so beautiful about" the art of skateboarding. "It's like someone pounding up a ladder and then floating through the clouds," says the actor.
The new live-action Spidey's enthusiasm is matched only by Parker's own passion for skateboarding. And to hear director Marc Webb tell it, Garfield's skills on wheels come quite naturally.
"One of his great talents is movement and physicality," says the filmmaker. "There's so much detail and specificity in his work that it's hard to stop watching him."
You'll start watching him firsthand when "Spider-Man" swings into theaters on July 3. In the meantime, check out what Garfield told MTV News recently about his skateboarding work in the film in the interview below.
