Confirmed returns for "Thor 2" have been coming in slowly and steadily, but at least now we finally have confirmation that Stellan Skarsgard will be reprising his role as Dr. Erik Selvig in the upcoming Marvel film.
Skarsgard spoke of his involvement in the project in an interview with Hey U Guys recently. "I will try to combine Thor 2 which starts in August and goes to the end of December with the new Lars Von Trier film," he teased.
Well, that's better than what Kat Dennings gave us. So far we know that Chris Hemsworth is back as Thor, Anthony Hopkins is in as Odin, Tom Hiddleston is playing Loki and Natalie Portman is reprising her role as Jane.
But there are plenty of newcomers who have joined the cast as well. Zachary Levi has replaced Joshua Dallas as Thor's comrade-in-arms Fandral the Dashing, while Mads Mikkelsen is portraying an unannounced villain. And we're still pretty convinced that the Enchantress has a role to play in this upcoming Marvel flick.
It's not much of a surprise that Skarsgard is back on the "Thor 2" team, especially since he reprised the character in "The Avengers." Loki manipulated him for much of the movie, so somehow we doubt that he's going to be a big fan of the fact that Thor's troublesome younger brother is cleaning up his act in "Thor 2."
"Thor 2" hits theaters on November 8, 2013.
