The sentence... is death.
Or at least that's the sentence Lionsgate wants us to know about "Dredd" when we're headed into San Diego Comic-Con next week. The studio has released a new motion poster for the movie that features the above line and a Twitter hashtag promising that "judgment is coming." If you want to make friends, Judge Dredd, this probably isn't the best way to do it.
If you're going to be at Comic-Con on Wednesday night and are psyched for "Dredd," we have some good news for you. Lionsgate is holding an early screening of the movie that's open to anyone who will be around, and seats will be given out on a first come, first serve basis. The screening will be held at 10 p.m. at the Reading Cinemas Gaslamp, with star Karl Urban introducing the film. It sounds awesome, but just be prepared to wait in line.
“Dredd” takes place in the futuristic world of Mega-City One, where a reality-altering drug called Slo-Mo has turned into a plague destroying the city’s populous. It’s up to Judges Dredd (Urban) and Anderson (Olivia Thirlby) to stop the criminal Ma-Ma (Lena Headey) who is spreading Slo-Mo throughout the city. But their interference causes Ma-Ma to wage a vicious war on the Judges, and she'll stop at nothing to make sure her drug empire is safe. The movie hits theaters in the US on September 21.
