As much as I enjoyed "The Amazing Spider-Man," I just was not a fan of The Lizard. I'm not sure if it's the idea of a nine-foot reptile-man running all over what should otherwise be a grounded-in-reality New York City, the mustache-twirling vocal villainy of the character, or simply a problem with the design itself. If it's the latter, well, it looks like "Spider-Man" had a chance to win me over on its bad guy once upon a time.
"Spider-Man" concept artist Jerad S. Marantz has posted some samples of his initial designs for Curt Connors' scaly alter-ego, and they're all pretty wonderful. You can already see one example above you. Keep reading for some more!
Big thanks to CBM for pointing this out.
What do you think of the Lizard concept art? If this was the Lizard seen in "Spider-Man," would you have been happier? Sound off in the comments below or hit us up on Twitter!
