How did you prepare for Comic-Con this past weekend? If your answer is "by watching the 'Walking Dead' marathon on AMC," then your preparation was rewarded with an exclusive first look at season three — specifically, the sword-wielding Michonne in action.
The first season three clip debuted during "The Talking Dead" on AMC last night (July 8), featuring newcomer Danai Gurira as Michonne, the hooded swordswoman seen briefly during the season two finale, "Beside the Dying Fire." Spoiler filled details below!
In the scene, a handful of walkers stumble through an otherwise abandoned shop, insatiable hunger dictating their every move. One walker finds himself something to feast on, alright — though it's certainly not the kind of meal he was planning on.
When the walker rounds a corner, he finds himself greeted by Michonne, who shoves him into a book case and promptly decapitates him. The two remaining walkers come upon her and are both subsequently skewered on Michonne's samurai sword, before losing the top halves of their heads in one fell swoop.
Needless to say… it looks like the TV version of Michonne is very much the badass that comics fans have been hoping for.
