His name may be Hellboy, but he showed the world he has the heart of an angel recently when he made one boy's dream come true.
After being contacted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation, special effects company Spectral Motion and Hellboy himself (also known as actor Ron Perlman) partnered up to make sure a young boy's wish to meet and become Hellboy became a reality.
"It was Zachary's wish to meet Hellboy and also to become Hellboy," according to a post on Spectral Motion's Facebook page. "When the Make-A-Wish Foundation contacted Spectral Motion with this request, Mike thought it would be fantastic to have Ron Perlman reprise his role for the day. Ron loved the idea and donned the makeup once more (with the assistance of Lufeng Qu and Eden Elizalde) and also ordered a Hellboy sized meal of burgers, shakes, and fries for Zachary and his family and the entire Spectral crew to enjoy. Later in the day, Zachary was transformed into Hellboy with the assistance of makeup artists Lufeng Qu and Neil Winn."
Along with the note, the company released some photos of Perlman as Hellboy and Zachary hanging out, and also chronicled Zachary's own transformation into the bright red, stump-horned character. So if Hellboy is actually a grown man, then what should we call Zachary's new version? Mini-Hellboy? Hellchild? No matter the name, he's got to be the most adorable thing going in the superhero world right now (sorry, Andrew Garfield).
The company also shared a note and photos on Facebook from their day with Caleb, another Make-A-Wish child who they also welcomed recently to see their studio and operate some animatronics they house. Again, a hell-raising round of applause to both Spectral Motion and Perlman for their selfless work for putting together a memorable day for these little movie-lovers!
