San Diego. Known in certain circles as the Whale's You-Know-What. Also known as the Geek Capital of the Universe every year during the month of July. I can't think of a better place in the whole wide world to be right now.
As you read this, the MTV Movies team is en route to sunny California for the annual nerd mecca known as Comic-Con International. Comics, movies, television, obstacle courses … if you can dream it, Comic-Con has it, and you can be sure we'll do our best to bring it all to your doorstep.
Over the next few days, we'll be bringing you round after round of interviews and a flurry of panel reports to boot. We'll be live in our shooting space with a wide variety of special guests. We'll be within striking distance of "The Walking Dead Escape." We'll be on the front lines of Warner Bros.' "Man of Steel" and Marvel's "Iron Man" presentations. And we're taking you with us every step of the way. (Well, not literally. But you get the idea.)
Personally speaking, it's been two years since I last hit the Comic-Con floor. On one hand, I feel completely prepared. I've survived my fair share of CCI experiences, after all. But it's also been two years. In dog years, that's a lot, and in Comic-Con years, I fear it's even worse. Will I be slow? Will I be rusty? Will the tidal wave of sweaty Spider-Men crush my spirit upon touchdown?
We'll know the answers in a matter or hours, I suspect. Stay tuned to MTV Splash Page over the coming days and I'll be sure to keep you posted on all of our misadventures here on the ground.
Are you at Comic-Con this year? If so, give a shout in the comments or on Twitter!
