Fantastic Four fanboys can finally stop holding their breath. Josh Trank, director of "Chronicle," has finally been locked down to helm the "Fantastic Four" reboot over at Fox. While the news of Trank being attached to the project has been rumored for quite a while and a script is already in the works, we haven't really seen any forward momentum on the project until now.
The "Fantastic Four" reboot will reportedly be the next Marvel film that Fox dates for release right after "The Wolverine" and "X-Men: First Class 2." The film will more than likely be Trank's next movie, featuring an entirely new cast and a fresh take on the characters we all know and love. All of this exciting news has us wondering but one thing: Which villain will the Fantastic Four be pitted against?
With that said, here's our list of villains we want to see in the "Fantastic Four" reboot!
» Super-Skrull
Kl'rt was handpicked by the Skrull Empire to exact their revenge on the Fantastic Four, who had recently thwarted their plans to invade Earth. More commonly referred to as the Super-Skrull, Kl'rt has been artificially augmented and given the combined powers of each member of the Fantastic Four. He is more powerful than all of them combined, plus he has the ability to shape-shift just like every other Skrull.
» Annihilus
Long ago, an advanced species called the Tyannans seeded the barren worlds of the Negative Zone with life spores. Years later, one of those life spores evolved into a highly intelligent insectoid creature. This creature, now known as Annihilus, was imbued with the knowledge of all Tyannan technology via a helmet found in a wrecked starship. Growing exponentially stronger and smarter, Annihilus has since set out to destroy anything and everything that he deems a threat to his existence.
» Kang the Conqueror
Nathaniel Richards, a scholar born in the 30th century of an alternate Earth, became interested in history and time travel as a result of being bored with his perfect, highly advanced timeline. Discovering time travel technology created by Victor Von Doom, Kang frequently abuses his abilities to alter history to however he sees fit. He is a genius, physicist, and engineer who is trained in 40th century combat. Kang is also a very distant relative of Reed Richards, a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic.
» Mole Man
After being shunned by society due to his unfriendly demeanor and dwarf-like appearance, Harvey Rupert Elder set out to make his new home on Monster Island. Falling into a massive cave, Elder eventually became ruler of the Moloids and all other creatures that reside in the Subterranean caverns. His first act as Mole Man was to exact his revenge on the surface world by attacking various power plants, until the Fantastic Four stopped him dead in his tracks.
» Galactus
The being formerly known as Galan was an explorer from the planet Taa who existed before the birth of the modern cosmos. Galactus is the physical embodiment of the Universe before the Big Bang, consuming entire planets in order to sustain the Power Cosmic. He has god-like powers which he utilizes to correct the imbalances between the mental constructs of Eternity and Death. We know that Galactus was technically in "Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer," but wouldn't it be nice to see a Devourer of Worlds that isn't just a giant space cloud?
