There are a lot of characters who die in AMC's "The Walking Dead." In fact, based on what we learned at the end of the show's second season, they're all going to die unless our favorite group of survivors can find some way to resolve the zombie apocalypse. But typically we figure that the actors and actresses who star in the show want their characters to live on past their due date in the series instead of getting killed off early on.
Not so with one of the stars of the award-winning drama. In fact, this person has gone as far as to beg for his/her character to get the axe. And we can't say we disagree with that point of view.

Things weren't looking too good for Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies) and her onscreen husband Rick (Andrew Lincoln) when season two wrapped up earlier this year, and the actress thinks that they should get worse before they ever get better. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter and some other reporters at the 100th issue party, Callies discussed her character's decisions surrounding the season two finale as well as where she wants her storyline to go from here.
"I've said from the beginning, not only am I OK with Lori dying but I think she has to," she said. "I've played this character with an eye toward an end."
In the comics, Lori and her newborn daughter (who, it should be noted, hasn't been born in the show yet) die at the hands of the Governor, the new villain we'll be meeting in season three. Their deaths forever change Rick in the series, and it's a development that Callies doesn't think the show can do without.
"[Former 'Walking Dead' showrunner] Frank Darabont and I actually -- before he was tragically and unfairly removed from the show -- we used to argue about it," Callies said. "I argued that it was necessary to kill Lori and I feel very strongly that for all of the other deviations we may have from the comic book, killing Lori does something to Rick that is vital for the story and can't be done any other way."
If there's one thing the series won't do any time soon, it's kill Rick. "The Walking Dead" Robert Kirkman said he toyed with the idea in the comics, but doesn't expect the TV show to travel down that route.
"There was a moment very early on in the book -- in the sixth issue -- I almost killed Rick instead of Shane because I was thinking it might be neat to make Shane the main character and have the book be about him being in charge and how Carl deals with the fact that his father is dead and his mother is shacking up with this guy," Kirkman teased.
"The Walking Dead" returns on October 14.
