It seems safe to assume that "Thor: The Dark World" will take place in, well, a dark world, but what does that mean exactly? We're finding out a bit more about the setting of the upcoming "Thor" sequel thanks to the locations and extras that are going to be used in the film.
Though it's not much to go on, Bleeding Cool has confirmed that filming is set to kick off on "Thor 2" in some long London tunnels. It's unclear whether the scenes shot here will take place on Earth, Asgard, or the titular dark world. Bleeding Cool takes this development to mean that "somebody, or something, is staying underground, out of the light," which could be the Dark Elves that are rumored to be the villains in this movie.
There also was a casting call for "Thor: The Dark World" that went out back in May (though no one knew it was for this film) that ComicBookMovie.com has now located for our viewing pleasure. It seems as though the people the casting directors are looking for could be used to fill out a Dark Elf army... or for that matter any other evil group that Thor will have to face this time around.
The casting call is looking for men and women who are extreme looking, heavily tattooed and have military experience, as well as girls with "hot bodies" that are "comfortable wearing bikini or skimpy costume on set." All of these people can be of any ethnicity who live near the London area. Who knows, maybe they'll be the ones spending most of their time in those long tunnels.
"Thor: The Dark World" is due in theaters on November 8, 2013.
