You know what Batman really needs? More money. Good thing moviegoers everywhere seem to be giving the multi-billionaire exactly that, as "The Dark Knight Rises" has now pulled in a global haul of $732 million, making it the second highest grossing film of the year right behind "Marvel's The Avengers."
Domestically, Christopher Nolan's Batman finale ranks third place for the year, with only "Avengers" and "The Hunger Games" ahead of it. The Hollywood Reporter wonders if "Rises" has what it takes to hit $1 billion, just as "The Dark Knight" did back in 2008. It's got an uphill climb on that one, but if anyone can make that much money before the year is out, it's Bruce Wayne.
