Well, look who's scrubbing into kick some ass on the comic book movie scene! None other than Donald Faison, best known for his role on "Scrubs" (and, to me, forever and ever known best for warning Dionne about getting on the freeway as Murray in "Clueless") is joining the cast of "Kick-Ass 2."
Deadline was first with the news, reporting that Faison is in negotiations to join Jeff Wadlow's sequel to the Matthew Vaughn original as Dr. Gravity, a masked crime-fighter and premiere member of the Justice Forever team. A self-professed physics professor from Columbia, Dr. Gravity fights crime with his Gravity Pole, which allows him to manipulate an object's weight to his advantage — though perhaps he's overselling his power just a touch.
If cast, Faison would be the second newcomer to join the "Kick-Ass" fray right behind John Leguizamo, who was hired to play the bodyguard to Christopher Mintz-Plasse's Red Mist. Returning players from the first "Kick-Ass" include Mintz-Plasse, Aaron Johnson and Chloe Moretz. The Deadline report also mentions Nicolas Cage, which is interesting, since his Big Daddy bit the big one already.
In other "Kick-Ass 2" news, there's a brand new banner for the film (pictured above) with a tentative release date of 2013. After a long wait for the movie to start, it looks like things are picking up pretty quickly on the sequel!
