Break out your calendars, ladies and gentlemen: we now know exactly when you will experience next year's most kick-ass comic book flick.
Deadline reports that Universal has given a June 28, 2013 release date to "Kick-Ass 2," Jeff Wadlow's sequel to the 2010 action movie from Matthew Vaughn, based on the comics by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse are set to return, and they'll be joined by newcomers John Leguizamo, Donald Faison and more.
Universal has also announced dates for two of its other upcoming comic book movies. "R.I.P.D.," starring Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges, bows on July 19, 2013, while the Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington adaptation of "2 Guns" pulls the trigger on August 16, 2013.
For those of you keeping score, the summer of 2013 just got very crowded for comic book movie fans. In addition to all those movies, there's also "Iron Man 3" (May 3), "Man of Steel" (June 14) and "The Wolverine" (July 26) to look forward to. That's not even mentioning the "Thor" sequel bowing next November. Needless to say, it's going to be a busy year!
