The Hugh Jackman-starring film's official Facebook page has been updated with a plot synopsis for "The Wolverine," based on the Japan-set comics from Chris Claremont and Frank Miller. The film "finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed."
In addition to the just revealed plot synopsis, director James Mangold has joined Twitter to discuss his work on "The Wolverine" with fans eager to know more.
"Amazing images being made. Great actors in this show. Exhilarating to direct a in multiple languages. Real emotion transcends language," he wrote in one tweet. In another, he listed some of the movies he's thinking about as he films "Wolverine," including Hitchcock's "Rear Window," "Marnie" and "Vertigo."
In another tweet, Mangold teased a scene he's about to shoot: "Today I am starting an intense set piece of action and drama at the Yashida Compound set. Logan, Yukio and Shingen."
