It looks like Jane Foster won't be the only human scientist enjoying a firsthand look at the cosmos when "Thor: The Dark World" comes rolling along next year.
Deadline reports that Kat Dennings is back in action for the "Thor" sequel, reprising her role as Darcy Lewis from the original Kenneth Branagh film. While she served purely as comic relief in the first "Thor," it's said that Darcy's role has been expanded for the sequel. What that means exactly remains to be seen, but I'd put money down on Darcy — and perhaps even Professor Selvig — joining Thor and Jane on their journey to Svartalfheim, home of the Dark Elves.
Though this is the first official word on Dennings' casting in the "Thor" sequel, it's not the first we've heard of her potentially returning to the Marvel franchise. The "Two Broke Girls" actress teased her continued involvement with the "Thor" universe as recently as June, though her comments were as tight-lipped as it gets.
"I do know the answer to that," she said at the time. "[However] I do not have the clearance to talk... interpret that as you will. ... I've asked when I can say things, but apparently I can't yet, so that will come soon."
