The idea of Joss’ return to television excites us at The Weekly Whedon. But now that we know who will be embarking on this journey with him, we’re positively giddy.
Supercouple Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen have done great things, inside and outside of the Whedonverse. Their writing and producing credits include “Drop Dead Diva,” “Spartacus” and big brother’s most recent TV series, “Dollhouse” (in which Tancharoen appeared as Kilo). They’ve also made some beautiful music together, literally.
However it was their work on “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog” that made us really love them. Along with Joss and other brother Zack they created the songs and characters we cherish – and, of course, we eagerly await their return.
Jed and Maurissa – also known as J-Mo – contributed to “Dr. Horrible” both behind the scenes and in front of the camera. Tancharoen played one of the three Groupies (appearing with either Nathan Fillion/Captain Hammer or Neil Patrick Harris/Dr. Horrible on her t-shirt). And who could forget Jed as Evil League of Evil member Dead Bowie?
We continually marvel at the brilliance of Joss, but his family members certainly have those genius genes too. We’re almost jealous.
