We had already heard she was in, and now it's official: Rosario Dawson is returning to Basin City.
The "Sin City" actress confirmed to E! Online that she will indeed be reprising her role as Gail, leader of a gang of warrior-prostitutes, for the upcoming sequel, "A Dame to Kill For," hitting theaters on October 4, 2013.
"It's in! It's happening," she said briefly, adding, "Can't tell you nothing."
We don't need to hear much more, frankly, as Gail's involvement in the "Sin City" sequel is already well-documented in the "Dame to Kill For" comic book. Without saying too much for those who haven't read the Frank Miller graphic novel, "Dame" goes deeper into the relationship between Gail and photographer turned crime-fighter Dwight McCarthy.
Less clear than how Dawson will fit into the next "Sin City" movie is how Robert Rodriguez and Miller plan to address the Manute problem. Michael Clarke Duncan, who died this week, played the role of Ava Lord's most fearsome bodyguard in the first film. Will Manute be recast for the sequel, or replaced with an entirely new character? We'll hopefully learn more in the coming weeks.
