Patrick Stewart has been surprisingly forthcoming about his possible return to the "X-Men" film series, recently telling a crowd at the Montreal Comic Convention that "there is every possibility" of his return to the role of Professor Charles Xavier.
But what about some of the other actors from the original era of "X-Men" movies? What about one particular character who has a knack for never staying dead — someone like Jean Grey, for instance?
MTV News recently sat down with Famke Janssen (who played the fiery-haired telepath in the first three "X-Men" films) to chat about her directorial debut "Bringing up Bobby," and we asked if she might have a role to play in the announced sequel to "X-Men: First Class," provocatively titled "Days of Future Past." Like Stewart, Janssen appears open to a return to the "X-Men" series, even if she's considerably tighter-lipped about the topic.
"One never knows," she said coyly. "Jean Grey, the Phoenix … she finds a way to reincarnate herself constantly, so one never knows."
But Janssen reiterated that for right now, she's "in no position to say anything" definitive one way or the other.
"I have no idea," she said. "Stay tuned."
Do you think we'll see Jean Grey in the next "X-Men" movie, or are Janssen's days in the X-verse as dead as the Dark Phoenix? Let us know in the comments section below or hit us up on Twitter!
