This week's coming episode, titled "Walk With Me," reportedly takes place entirely in Woodbury and "features one of the show’s most iconic images ever — and one fans of the comics will surely recognize," according to TV Line.
As fans surely know, the comics have no shortage of iconic images to offer, especially during the Woodbury arc. Here are six of the scenes we could easily see featured in the show's first Woodbury outing.
Warning: SPOILERS for the "Walking Dead" comics, and potentially the show, lie ahead!
Michonne kills her pets. This takes place outside of the prison walls in the comics, not at Woodbury, but we know the sword-wielding survivor and Andrea are heading towards the community with pets in tow. Chances are good these limbless, jawless zombies won't be allowed inside the town walls, leaving ample room for some straight-from-the-comics head-chopping.
Gladiator games revealed. The first sign that all is not well in Woodbury is the Governor's revelation that he's pitting zombies against humans in gladiatorial style matches that serve the dual purpose of entertainment and justice. We can't imagine the show will resist this juicy idea for too long, even if the first Woodbury episode feels a little soon.
Off with his hand. In the comics, the Governor welcomes Rick to Woodbury by chopping off his right hand. Rick isn't at Woodbury right now, clearly, but who's to say that the Governor won't chop somebody else's hand off in his big introduction — someone like Andrea, perhaps?
Meet Penny. The Governor is one twisted son of a mother, so much so that he keeps his zombified daughter Penny chained up in his home. Revealing Penny would go a long way towards showing just how truly disturbed Woodbury's self-declared leader really is.
Nothing on television. Another easy, iconic way to prove the Governor's twisted sensibilities is to show the extensive collection of severed zombie heads he keeps in his private quarters. It's hard to look at those fleshy trophies and still think the Governor is a benevolent leader.
Michonne gets imprisoned, and then some. It gets very bad, very quickly, for our favorite zombie apocalypse samurai when she stumbles upon Woodbury in the comics. We won't spoil the specifics here, largely because we feel revolted even thinking about them. It feels too early to go into Michonne and Governor's gruesome interactions just now, but we don't think these scenes are too far off either, sadly.
