Are we finally honing in on the newest agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.? One report certainly suggests that a front runner has emerged in the race for Sharon Carter.
Express reports that Jessica Brown Findlay is the lead contender for the female lead in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," widely believed to be Sharon Carter, an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and descendant of Cap's long lost love, Peggy Carter.
But the UK outlet also notes that previously mentioned contenders Emilia Clarke, Teresa Palmer, Imogen Poots and Alison Brie are all still in the running for the part. In other words, nothing is set in stone yet.
Findlay is best known for her role as Lady Sybil Crawley on British soap series "Downton Abbey," and has also held parts on "Misfits" and "Black Mirror."
