Joss Whedon is a very, very busy man. "The Avengers" director is following up a "wonderful" 2012 by being hard at work on both "The Avengers 2" and "S.H.I.E.L.D." -- and that's not even mentioning the prep he's doing on "Dr. Horrible 2."
In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, it's been revealed that Whedon is currently directing the pilot episode of "S.H.I.E.L.D." The series likely won't premiere on ABC until the fall, but it's exciting nonetheless to know that forward momentum is being made on the project. The series cast Chloe Bennet as its final regular in December.
Since directing a television pilot is old hat to Whedon by now, he decided to keep himself doubly busy by also writing the script for "The Avengers 2." He's got even more time for that movie than he does for "S.H.I.E.L.D.," but the script is likely due in to Marvel soon. "The Avengers 2" is due in theaters on May 1, 2015.
Still not enough Whedon for you in 2013? He's confirmed that he's planning to film the long-anticipated "Dr. Horrible 2" at some point this year.
"These giant things take three years to make," Whedon said of the decision to do "Dr. Horrible 2" as well. “If you don’t have anything else coming out, people who are used to having you once a week feel like they’ve lost you to a certain extent."
