Deadline reports that Meloni is taking "a lead role in the film" and will be "playing a cop." As the site notes, this likely means he will be playing a "disreputable" character if the police in "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" are as corrupt as the ones in the first film.
Gordon-Levitt, on the other hand, will play "a cocky gambler who disguises a darker mission to destroy his most foul enemy at his best game." He's joined by Jamie King, Jamie Chung, Rosario Dawson, Mickey Rourke, Dennis Haysbert and Jessica Alba.
It could be that even more major stars will join the upcoming sequel. Deadline claims that Josh Brolin is reportedly being courted for a role, while "there are several others from the original cast who'd be welcomed back." Chief among them is likely Clive Owen, who has yet to say whether he'll reprise the role Dwight.
"Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" hits theaters on October 4, 2013.
