Years ago, "Lost" and "Oz" actor Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje declared himself a competitor for the role of T'Challa in an eventual "Black Panther" movie. Since then, Triple A has been a fan-favorite for the part, though his recent casting as Kurse in "Thor: The Dark World" seems to suggest that his shot at "Black Panther" is over.
Then again, Akinnuoye-Agbaje seems very confident that he has a bright future with Marvel still to come. Speaking with MTV News at HBO's Golden Globes party, the one-time Mr. Eko spoke candidly and extensively about his work on the latest "Thor" movie, and his designs on making more Marvel movies.
"It's funny that you say that," he answered when we asked if he would be up for more Marvel films in the future. "As we speak, we're talking about that. Obviously Marvel is a great family that I'm happy to be working with. We had a great time on ['Thor'], so I'd love to continue that relationship."
When we asked if AAA's name might be in the mix for a project like, say, "Guardians of the Galaxy," the actor laughed and played coy. "I'm not talking about anything yet. I'm just talking about having a really good relationship with Marvel." Could we be looking at the man who will become Drax the Destroyer? One can hope!
For now, the actor is more than happy with his dual role of Algrim and Kurse, a job that required a great deal of physical exertion. Adewale spoke at length about bringing his might to bear upon Chris Hemsworth, and also teased that even Tom Hiddleston is going to enjoy some "amazing fights" over the course of "The Dark World." See everything he had to say in the video below.
