Face it, Shailene Woodley — you just hit the jackpot!
The "Descendants" and "Secret Life of the American Teenager" star is the lucky actress joining the "Amazing Spider-Man" franchise as Mary Jane Watson, previously played in the Spidey films by Kirsten Dunst. Woodley already has the approval of Dunst as well as her new co-star, Emma Stone, but what does she think about joining the "Spider-Man" movies? Here's what she told us at Sundance this year:
"Spider-Man's always been my favorite superhero since I was a little girl," she said. "I always thought there was something special about flying. When I watched the previous 'Spider-Man' with Andrew Garfield, he made me feel invincible. I also cried when Uncle Ben died. I knew it was coming, and I still cried! I think Marc Webb is amazing. I'm so stoked to work with Andrew and Emma. They're the best of the best."
Woodley added that she "assumes" that she'll be dying her hair red for the part, but doesn't know for sure just yet since shooting dates on the "Spider-Man" sequel aren't entirely confirmed. That said, she already knows that 2013 is going to be a massive year.
"2013 is a big year, not only for me, but for everyone," she said. "Human evolution is happening! It's going down, man! This is a good year."
