When Toby Jones asks, he shall receive, and in this case he asked to return in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." The British actor confirmed at the London Critics Circle Awards that he'll be back for the upcoming Marvel sequel.
"It looks like I will be [returning]," Jones told HeyUGuys on the red carpet.
In "Captain America," Jones played scientist Arnim Zola. That movie was set during World War II, but there's an easy way for Jones to be transported to "The Winter Soldier's" present day storyline. In the "Captain America" comics, Zola's consciousness is transferred into a new, robotic body, and that eventual outcome was even teased during the first movie.
When MTV News last caught up with Jones at the Golden Globes, he said that he wasn't sure if writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely would be able to fit Zola into the "Winter Soldier's storyline.
"I'm not sure the script is totally sorted out yet, but I'm waiting to hear about that," he said. Well, it looks like he has.
"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" comes out on April 4, 2014.
