We haven't been shy about the fact that we're pretty pumped for the "S.H.I.E.L.D." TV show and even though we're still a long way away from seeing the pilot, plenty of other folks are excited about it as well, including actresses who've played prominent S.H.I.E.L.D. agents like Cobie Smulders.
When MTV News caught up with the likable lady recently during the press day for her new movie "Safe Haven," she'd been fielding a bunch of questions about whether or not we'll see Maria Hill on the show in some way shape or form.
"Everyone seems very curious about the S.H.I.E.L.D. show. Joss [Whedon] knows how to keep things under wraps, that's what he's good at," Smulders said when asked what she knows so far about the plan for the series. "It's happening, they're shooting right now and there's been discussions about Maria Hill being involved, that's all I can say. It's not ruled out, but you know you're going to have to tune in," she teased, adding that she doesn't foresee any scheduling conflicts with her shooting schedule on "How I Met Your Mother."
In now being a part of Whedon's "crew," we asked Smulders if she has to fight any urges to call him to check on what he's writing and whether he has plans for her in anything.
"I call him, not to try to get work just to be my friend and go drinking with me," she revealed. "It is, I know what you're saying, you're so lucky to be in his Rolodex, to be one of his players because he writes such good stuff. I know how honored I am to be one of the few. I'd work with him always. I'd like him to do everything I do."
Looking even further ahead to "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," Smulders still hasn't heard anything about what exactly she'll be doing in the film - or she's not at liberty to say anything about it.
"I'm going to be in it but I don't know how much or what," she said. "I know I'm involved. It's one of those things they call you and say, 'You're going to do it,' and you're like, 'Yaaaay!'"
We then brought up one of our prior convos with the actress where we asked her which "Avenger" Maria Hill might crush on, if such a thing were possible, and she said Hill would probably be into Cap himself. When asked if that might ever seep into another film, she wasn't so sure.
"Right yeah he's the one who makes the most sense," she said of Hill having a thing for Cap. "I don't think that's the direction they're going in but I have no idea. They're very secretive."
