"Guardians of the Galaxy" is starting to come together. James Gunn is on board as director and writer, and now Chris Pratt is the first actor to join the project, signing on for the lead role of Star-Lord.
The rest of the cast still needs filling out, but there are two characters in particular that we're most curious about: Rocket Raccoon and Groot, a living, breathing tree. How on Earth (or off Earth, we should say) does Marvel plan on pulling those two characters off? Luckily, that's the question that was posed to Marvel producer Victoria Alonso in a new interview with Crave Online.
"We’re going to do it the best way possible. We are going to hopefully wow [you]," she said. "The beautiful thing about it is technology is always on our side, so we’re I would say very deeply into developing the look and hopefully some motion tests are happening so that we can figure out how they move, but I think that we will put all hands on deck to make sure the fans are proud of those two characters."
Alonso also touched briefly on the VFX we'll see in "Thor: The Dark World," out in November.
"There are a couple of CG characters there that I couldn’t reveal at the moment but very soon I will," she said. "There's a lot of work in Thor because don’t forget, Thor is not of earth. So every time we’re into his world we’re in a completely different environment."
