Good news, Speedy fans! "Arrow's" new resident troublemaker Roy Harper will be back full-time starting in season two. The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Colton Haynes has been bumped up to a series regular following his recent debut, joining Oliver Queen and the rest of the Starling City residents in their ongoing adventures. Haynes debuted as Harper in the episode "Dodger," wherein he stole Arrow's sister Thea's purse... and possibly her heart. See, he's a troublemaker! Haynes will reprise his role a few more times before the freshman CW drama finishes its successful first season.
This news is sure to excite longtime fans of the Green Arrow comics, where Roy Harper has been pretty much a mainstay since his introduction decades ago when your grandparents were children. Harper served as Green Arrow's sidekick Speedy before taking on the monikers Arsenal and Red Arrow. He can currently be found in the DC Comics series "Red Hood and the Outlaws," where his partnership with Oliver Queen is over and done with.
For those hungry for more Haynes, he previously starred in the first two seasons of "Teen Wolf." It's too soon to tell if Haynes will don a red hood similar to Arrow's green one, but he'll have roughly two dozen episodes next season to perfect his archery. That is, as long as he keeps things cool with Thea Queen. You don't want to hurt a girl whose brother is a bow-and-arrow-toting vigilante.
