"Treme" actor Michiel Huisman is making the jump from HBO to the major networks as the male lead of NBC's "The Sixth Gun." Huisman will star opposite Laura Ramsey in the Carlton Cuse-produced pilot, which adapts the acclaimed Oni Press comic book series of the same name.
"The Sixth Gun" takes place shortly after the end of the Civil War. Huisman will play Drake Sinclair, a gunslinger in search of the last of six mysterious, mythical guns possessed of otherworldly power. His co-star, Laura Ramsey, will play Becky Montcrief, a farmer's daughter with ties to the titular sixth gun.
Fans will likely recognize producer Carlton Cuse as one of the executive producers of ABC's landmark television series, "Lost." The pilot was written by Ryan Condal and will be directed by Jeffrey Reiner.
