Shock Till You Drop's Ryan Turek has confirmed that actor Caleb Landry Jones will not be flying high in "X-Men: Days of Future Past" as Banshee. This news comes after pretty much every actor from the Bryan Singer-era has returned, as well as the announcement of new faces Booboo Stewart and Fan Bingbing. We can only assume that this sad news applies to Lucas Till as well, the actor who portrayed Havok in "X-Men: First Class." Neither actor has been mentioned as returning, and now Jones' absence has been confirmed.

Caleb Landry Jones will NOT be back as Banshee in the next X-Men movie. Just spoke with the man and he confirmed for me.

I have to say, this is a big bummer. As happy as I am about having the rest of the gang back together, it's a shame that most of the "First Class" X-Men have been left behind. Plot-wise it could make sense; "Days of Future Past" takes place over a decade after "First Class." It's entirely plausible that Banshee and Havok served as X-Men for a decent chunk of time before moving on to other careers, much like their comic book counterparts. The sad thing is, we won't get to see all the grand adventures that Banshee went on.
Jones' portrayal of Banshee was incredibly charming. Even though Jones was not a full grown adult (comic book Banshee has always been noticeably older than his X-Men peers) and even though he wasn't Irish, he managed to get across Banshee's charisma effortlessly on screen. That goes without mentioning how well executed his powers were in the film.
I now present a quartet of GIFs, in memory of Caleb Landry Jones' great portrayal of Banshee.
