Joss Whedon talked to "Entertainment Tonight" while walking the red carpet at Sunday's MTV Movie Awards and managed to talk about pretty much everything we would want him to talk about. The entire interview can be seen below, but I've painstakingly transcribed the most interesting bits for your at-work-without-headphones enjoyment.
On the rest of the Phase 2 Marvel films: "I've gotten to look at everything and see behind the curtain on all the stuff. And Kevin Feige has a really clear vision and it runs through all these movies. They're all very different but they are all what the next story should be."
On his full-time consulting gig with Marvel: "I'm actually consulting for Marvel in general, and some of that is protecting myself. 'Wait a minute, I need that!' But most of it is just trying to make sure that everything is as good as it can be because we're all pulling for each other."
On the status of the "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." pilot: "We're just sort of finishing the last tweaks and it's a different view of the Marvel universe but it's very much Marvel, and that's the stuff that I love because I grew up on it."
On "Avengers 2": "I didn't think I was going to do the second but I had an idea for it before I'd figured out the first one. You go into a movie not assuming there’s going to be... I've seen plenty of movies that were the first part of the trilogy that never happened and it's terrible. You don't save anything for the trip back. Having said that, though, I did sort of know, "Well, if they were to come back, I know what's going to happen... It's going to be awful."
Check out the entire interview below, which also contains some information on the yet-to-be-produced "Dr. Horrible" sequel.
