The cast and crew of "Arrow" have wasted no time getting fans pumped up for the show's second season. The first season finale aired last week, and since then we've already had executive producer Marc Guggenheim and actor Colton Haynes giving teases as to where the super hero show will go in its sophomore year. Haynes hinted that a super team will be appearing on the show, and now Guggenheim has given TV Guide a few clues as to who they'll be facing.
"We made no secret of the fact that we subscribe to the Whedonesque model of having a big bad, and in Season 2, we'll actually have two big bads," Guggenhim tells TV Guide. "They'll both be very recognizable names to fans of the comic book. We're really excited about both of them."
To fans worried that next season will feel overcrowded, Guggenheim says that they sort of already had two main villains in season one.
"With Malcolm and the Dark Archer, we sort of had two big bads in one person," he says. "In Season 2, we're going to split them up essentially, and there will be a Malcolm-esque big bad and a Dark Archer-esque big bad."
One of those big bads could be Manu Bennett, who plays Slade Wilson on the show and has been promoted to a series regular for season two. Deathstroke isn't a very nice guy in the comics, despite his current alliance with Oliver Queen on the show.
"If the question of Season 1 is, 'What happened to Oliver on that island?' The question of Season 2 is, 'What happened to Slade Wilson on that island?'," reveals Guggenheim. We'll have to wait until the show's fall premiere to find out if Slade Wilson will fill Malcolm Merlyn's shoes.
