Glenn Close. Nova Corps. "Guardians of the Galaxy."
Deadline reports that the "Damages" and "The Shield" actress has landed a major role in "Guardians of the Galaxy," the Marvel Studios sci-fi flick coming up from director James Gunn. Close will play "a leadership role in the Nova Corp, the intergalactic space patrol" of the Marvel Universe.
Let that soak in: Glenn Close, at the command of the Nova Corp. The world is a good place.
Close joins what's shaping up to be a rock-star cast for "Guardians of the Galaxy." Chris Pratt is in the lead as Peter "Star-Lord" Quill, with Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista joining him as Gamora and Drax the Destroyer. Lee Pace has been tapped to play a villain in the film, though there are some rumors he's actually playing a misunderstood Marvel hero. (Who, exactly? Consult our guessing game!) Michael Rooker, fresh off "The Walking Dead," is trading in his Merle Dixon mischief to play the bow-wielding Yondu. And it now looks all but official that John C. Reilly is getting in on the action as well; he's rumored for a role in the Nova Corp, so count on some Close-Reilly action.
