Stan Lee's known as many things: writer, creator, showman, promoter, spokesman, and cameo actor extraordinaire. But can we add Trekkie to that list? An interview conducted by Rod Roddenberry for "Trek Nation," the documentary about his late father Gene Roddenberry, reveals that Stan Lee considered the "Star Trek" creator to be something of a kindred spirit.
"I tried to, given the fact that there was a fantasy angle [to the Marvel Comics superheroes] somewhere, I tried to make everything else as realistic as possible," Lee says to Roddenberry. "It's sort of a case of realistic fantasy, and I would say your father [Gene] was a master of that."
