Australian actor Josh Helman has been added to the "X-Men: Days of Future Past" cast in an unrevealed role. While it may seem like the cast is the size of a small town at this point, you have to respect the fact that they have gone over a month without adding any new mutants. That's restraint!
Of course that last casting cause quite a stir, as it revealed that the film had snatched up Quicksilver after Joss Whedon had already called dibs. But what about Helman? He previously played a role in the Tom Cruise film "Jack Reacher" and can also be seen in the upcoming Tom Hardy film, "Mad Max: Fury Road."
There's not much else to go on, here. Helman could be playing pretty much any role as far as this film is concerned. He could be yet another X-Man, or he could be one of the under represented bad guys (seriously, are they all fighting Peter Dinklage?). The new additions to the cast are all over the place, character wise. Helman could be playing an obscure character, along the lines of Darwin from "First Class." He could be playing a fan-favorite character, similar to Blink. Bishop, Warpath and Sunspot are all in the film too, meaning that pretty much any mutant from the '80s and '90s are fair game. The "Days of Future Past" class is diverse!
Since he could be literally anyone, I'm going to put my money on Longshot. Seems crazy, right? Does it seem any crazier than the other character selections? Yeah, sure, he's Longshot!
