Batman's making a comeback, but he's doing it without any assistance from the Nolans.
At Comic-Con, Zack Snyder announced that his "Man of Steel" sequel features both Superman and Gotham's Caped Crusader. He's co-writing the story with David Goyer, writer of "Man of Steel" and the previous "Dark Knight Trilogy." But even though Goyer is returning, he won't be joined by Jonathan Nolan, Chris Nolan's brother and Goyer's collaborator on the critically-acclaimed Batman series.
"The fun thing about working with such an iconic character is you know when you're doing it that at some point you're going to wrap up your story and see what the next fella down the line has to say about it," Nolan told Zap2It. "So I'm very excited to see what they do with him."
Even with the Nolan brothers out, and Christian Bale presumably out of the running as well, Goyer's continued involvement with the DC Entertainment brand assures some form of crossover between the Batman movies of yesterday and the Batman movies still to come. Either way, it's officially time to get ready for the Dark Knight's big-screen future minus Team Nolan.
