"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." got backed up by some heavy firepower this week, when Samuel L. Jackson made his first appearance on the show as the agency's director, Nick Fury. Jackson's arrival is big news for "S.H.I.E.L.D." and Marvel fans — but for the actor himself, it's nothing new.
"I'm still playing the same guy, it's the same process," the actor nonchalantly said in a new interview with The Wall Street Journal, talking about his surprise "S.H.I.E.L.D." cameo. "I just show up and they turn the cameras on and we do it."
Whether or not we see more of Jackson as Fury in the weeks to come remains unknown, but based on the actor's relaxed attitude about reprising the role, smart money says we haven't seen the last of the one-eyed spy, not by a long shot.
No matter what, here's one place you can count on seeing Fury again: "Avengers: Age of Ultron," hitting theaters in May 2015. Jackson spoke a little bit about what he knows of the upcoming "Avengers" sequel, seemingly confirming that Elizabeth Olsen is indeed in the movie.
"I don't think we begin shooting before March of next year," he said. "I know we're shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen [who will play the Scarlet Witch], but I don't know what she's doing, if she's on the inside or the outside. I haven't seen a script."
