Luke Evans

by Brett White

After years of searching and seemingly dozens of candidates, the reboot of "The Crow" finally found its leading man in "Fast and Furious 6" actor Luke Evans. And now that Evans has started promoting the latest "Fast" film, interviewers are jumping at the chance to ask him about his future leading role in Javier Gutierrez's reboot. Empire got to Evans first, getting a little bit of insight into what drew the actor to the role.

"It's a great script, really great script, a fantastic director - Javier Gutierrez, a Spanish director whose work is fantastic," says Evans. "We've been chatting about it for a while now. It's been sort of simmering away and I have a lot of passion for that role. I remember it vividly from when I was a kid. It still resonates to this day."

Black Panther Runaways Strange

by Brett White

Even though Phase Two of Marvel's film endeavors has just kicked off with the billion dollar blockbuster "Iron Man 3," speculation and anticipation is spreading well past the current set of films and into the still mysterious Phase Three. Entertainment Weekly managed to get a lot of information from Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, with the head honcho commenting on every Marvel movie currently rumored to be in the works. The article is incredibly in-depth and worth a read.

The only sure thing about Marvel's Phase Three is Edgar Wright's "Ant-Man." The film's been greenlit for years, and Feige reveals that "Ant-Man" was actually partly responsible for the creation of Marvel Studios. After numerous meetings with studio executives unfamiliar with Marvel's lesser known characters who just could not grasp the concept of Ant-Man, Marvel decided it best to make their own movies (that first movie? "Iron Man").

"Do you know why we became our own studio?" he told EW. "Because those are the conversations we used to have with studio execs. And they were very frustrating."

Quicksilver Scarlet Witch

by Brett White

Considering how secrecy pretty much goes hand in hand with Marvel movies, it's still a bit shocking how transparent Joss Whedon and Marvel are being about the expanding ensemble of "The Avengers 2." Whedon casually mentions that Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are in the sequel, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige just says, "yeah, pretty much" and shrugs it off, and now Whedon's talking to IGN about their role in the film without any of the usual layers of mystery.

"You know, they had a rough beginning," says Whedon, forgetting to speak in secret code. "They're interesting to me because they sort of represent the part of the world that wouldn't necessarily agree with The Avengers. So they're not there to make things easier. I'm not putting any characters in the movie that will make things easier."

Michael B Jordan

by Brett White

"Chronicle" and "Friday Night Lights" alum Michael B. Jordan has been very vocal recently about rumors that he'll be flaming on as Johnny Storm (the Human Torch) in director Josh Trank's upcoming "Fantastic Four" reboot. The actor addressed the casting rumor in new interviews with both USA Today and the Huffington Post, saying that he is not officially involved yet, but he is very open to the idea.

"Nothing is real. Everyone knows we're good friends," says Jordan, mentioning his friendship with director Josh Trank. "It's something that if it happened I would be ecstatic. I'd love to be a part of it." USA Today notes that Jordan winked "off the record" while making the last statement, which basically means that he has a blue spandex suit in his closet ready to go! Man, jumping to conclusions is fun.

S.H.I.E.L.D.

ABC premiered the trailer for "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." during the network's upfronts presentation in New York and, unsurprisingly, it looks to be one of the best new shows in the fall TV line-up. During the upfronts presentation of his show, Joss Whedon opened up about what will make a series based on S.H.I.E.L.D. work for all audiences.

"Everything has to push 'character' forward, including action. We don't want 'spectacle' characters, we want some spectacle that addresses character. We always want the two to mix," Whedon said.

James Badge Dale

When James Badge Dale finally took the role of the "muscle" in "Iron Man 3," it was a pretty big deal for the actor. He admits now that he has had plenty of opportunities to star in superhero movies, but it was only the role of Eric Savin that snagged his attention.

"I've actually passed on even auditioning for almost every superhero movie I've been sent because I didn't think I could play someone in a suit," he told Movies.com. "I don't want to be in a cape or wear a codpiece. So this was the absolute best of both worlds. I get to be in a superhero movie where my suit is actually just a regular suit."

Avengers

by Brett White

It looks like "Avengers 2" will be shooting in places other than the United Kingdom when cameras start rolling in early 2014. Comic Book Movie has heard from a few sources in South Africa who claim to have heard that the film is looking for permission to shoot in Cape Town. CBM's article states:

"Multiple listeners of South African FM radio station 5FM suggest that Earth's Mightiest Heroes could be reassembling in Cape Town, according to the Chairman of Cape Town Film Studios. During the radio session, the chairman mentioned that Marvel reps have phoned them requesting permission to shoot the next Avengers movie in South Africa's jewel city, and 2nd-most populated."

Bautista Drax

Going by the TwitPic below, one could assume that Dave Bautista has begun his transformation into Drax the Destroyer for Marvel's cosmic film, "Guardians of the Galaxy." The wrestler turned actor tweeted a picture of himself undergoing a makeup session for an undisclosed project. The makeup looks a lot like Drax's signature eye markings.

For all the maybe-Drax-y goodness, check out the tweet and photo below.
