And while Fassbender was later confirmed to be in talks to portray Magneto in "X-Men: First Class," there has been no official news since.

However, Fassbender is now rumored to have officially accepted the role of Magneto, according to Showbiz411 (which was the source of the original rumor linking Fassbender to "First Class"). According to Mania.com, Alex Soto has signed on to direct "Ultimate Spider-Man." Soto has previously directed several episodes of the animated "Teen Titans" as well as "Ben Ten." He has also drawn storyboards for the upcoming "Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness" animated series.

However, the report doesn't state whether Soto will also be a showrunner on the new series, as animation veteran Greg Weisman was for "Spectacular Spider-Man" — an animated series that was apparently one of the early victims of the Disney/Marvel deal. Read More...

ConanA new official photo featuring Jason Momoa as Conan has been released from director Marcus Nispel's upcoming adaptation of Robert E. Howard's classic barbarian hero.

After years in development, the long-awaited "Conan" reboot picked up steam a year ago when Nispel came on board to helm the film. Momoa and "Twilight" star Kellan Lutz were finalists for the role, which ultimately went to Momoa.

Momoa is perhaps best known for his role as Ronon Dex on "Stargate Atlantis" and his upcoming turn as Khal Drogo in the HBO's "Game of Thrones." Sam and Twitch"Spawn" creator Todd McFarlane has made no secret of his desire to bring his long-running comic back to the big screen. However, he may have other ambitions for "Sam & Twitch," a pair of police detectives who were originally supporting characters in "Spawn."

During a recent interview with Comic Book Resources, McFarlane indicated that he and "a big time producer" are in the process of of developing a "Sam & Twitch" TV series. "It would be an hour-long drama with a little bit of the mystique stuff in it," said McFarlane. "At times, we've gone in and pitched it as sort of 'Hill Street Blues' meets 'The X-Files' without it being that crazy and that obvious."

"It's not that kind of stuff," continued McFarlane. "It's the stuff where you go, 'The room was locked and the windows were locked and everything was locked from the outside. Somebody couldn't get out, but we found a dead body on the 21st floor and the autopsy says that they drowned to death, and by the way, it's salt water. What the hell does that mean?" Read More...

Marvel SuperheroesWhile Marvel's upcoming film slate is loaded with the new "Spider-Man" reboot, "X-Men: First Class" as well as Marvel Studios' "Thor," "Captain America" and "The Avengers;" some of Marvel's secondary characters may also get their shot at cinematic stardom.

According to Latino Review, Marvel is rumored to be considering properties like "Doctor Strange," "Black Panther" and "Luke Cage" for 10-minute short films that would introduce the characters to moviegoers without taking the financial risk of a full-length feature.

Although the anonymous rumor is unconfirmed and entirely unofficial at this point, it does seem like a logical step for the company. Various other unconfirmed reports have circulated this year indicating that Marvel Studios was potentially planning smaller budget films based on "Ka-Zar," "Dazzler" and "Power Pack" as well as the previously mentioned "Dr. Strange" and "Luke Cage." In director Jimmy Hayward's upcoming adaptation of "Jonah Hex," Megan Fox portrays a prostitute named Lilah opposite Josh Brolin in the title role. And while Brolin clearly gets the lion's share of the action, early trailers have revealed that Fox will get her chance for some gunplay as well.

"As a grown adult, I don't mess around with guns at all," confessed Fox. "I have a fear of them. But as a child, I grew up in the South — I grew up in Tennessee — and my dad as a hobby... he used to go kill ducks and bring them home and we would eat them for dinner." Read More...
