Road To PerditionBack in 2008, word broke that Max Allan Collins — the prolific writer behind the "Road To Perdition" series — was set to adapt and direct "Road To Purgatory;" the first sequel to the "Road To Perdition" film which starred Tom Hanks, Jude Law, Daniel Craig and the late Paul Newman. With the imminent release of "Road To Perdition" on Blu-ray, Collins has revealed that the sequel may finally move into active production.

"We've been approached and the offer seems to be very, very serious," Collins told Movieweb. "We have signed a round of paper but it is not nailed down yet and it looks to be pretty interesting. I will tell you that this will happen about 10 years after 'Perdition' ends. Michael is 10 years older in 'Road to Purgatory.'" Read More...

Zachary LeviLast fall, "Chuck" star Zachary Levi lost his chance to play Fandral in "Thor" due to his TV series receiving an order for additional episodes.

And while some April Fool's Day rumors linked Levi to the Flash, more recent rumors had him as a potential star of Christopher Nolan's "Superman" reboot.

"It's complete fiction," Levi told IGN when asked about the latest "Superman" rumors. "A bummer that it's complete fiction! I start getting these text messages from my friends, saying, 'What is going on? You didn't tell us any of this!' And I'm asking, 'What are you talking about?' I get this link emailed to me from my publicist. She goes, 'Just so you know…' I go check it out, and of course, on the bottom of that article there's all these comments, and every other article that spawned off of that and all the comments on those sites." MageOne of the seminal comic book series of the '80s and '90s may finally be heading to the big screen.

According to Variety, "Watchmen" producer Lloyd Levin has picked up the rights to Matt Wagner's "Mage: The Hero Discovered;" the first part of the "Mage" trilogy that Wagner began at Comico in 1984. The second part, "Mage: The Hero Defined" came out from Image in 1997. However, the third and final part, "Mage: The Hero Denied" has not been released in the subsequent years.

Swamp ThingJust over a year ago, producer Joel Silver began dropping hints about a new 3-D "Swamp Thing" movie. Although Swamp Thing co-creator Len Wein has written a screenplay for the project, it may still be some time before it goes forward.

"There is a rights problem which I don't understand because I'm not a lawyer," Wein told Movie Web during the San Diego Comic-Con. "My wife could probably explain it, I can't. (She is a lawyer). But we desperately want to make a new 'Swamp Thing' movie. I've written a screenplay. Joel Silver is gung-ho to make it, to do it right... big-budget, CGI, the whole dance."

"I know Akiva Goldsman wants to take my script, rewrite that and do something with it," continued Wein. "We want to do a 'Swamp Thing' movie. Once we figure out the rights problems, we will." Read More...

SupergirlWith the impending end of "Smallville" following the upcoming 10th season, speculation has mounted that the CW would mine the vaults of DC's vast character library for a potential replacement. And apparently, that's exactly what the network is doing.

"We have started to talk about if there are other DC comic book adaptations," CW Entertainment President Dawn Ostroff told Digital Spy during the recent Television Critics Association press tour. "We haven't picked anything else up to develop yet, [but] we would like to see something on the air, so we're going to work on it."

"We are talking about everything," continued Ostroff. "The characters are there. We're looking at the DC library. There are different parts of the puzzle. At the end of the day, I would love to be able to say that 'Smallville' is going off the air and now we have something else is coming on." Read More...

Neal AdamsComing out of this year's Comic-Con, two of the biggest comic book creators in the industry have found new representation in Hollywood.

Green Lantern and The FlashEarlier this summer, word broke that Greg Berlanti, Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim — the screenwriting team behind the first "Green Lantern" movie — had signed a deal to write a treatment for both "Green Lantern 2" and "The Flash" before going to write the screenplay for one of those projects. And it now appears that the trio may have already moved on to wring the script for "The Flash."
