Tune in to the 2012 MTV Movie Awards

Anne Hathaway CatwomanAn epic week of character reveals concludes this week with "The Dark Knight Rises" rolling out its first pic Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. Her long hair may have rubbed a few people the wrong way, but Jamie McKelvie is optimistic. Chuck BB? Not so much.

In other tweets, Jim Lee sounded pleased with Henry Cavill's first public Superman still. His perspective, a defense of Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man switch-up, and a Wonder Woman TV pilot review made today's recap.

Henry Cavill as SupermanWell, we all know what Henry Cavill looks like as Superman now, and he didn't need to change the color of Kal-El's skin to start kicking up some controversy on Twitter. Jamal Igle, David Gallaher and Mark Millar weighed in with reactions to the new Man of Steel, and sides have been taken.

Laurence Fishburne playing Perry White is still a hot topic, too, though, as is "Captain America: The First Avenger." Check out J.T. Krul's micro-review and see who's pumped for "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" down below.

Laurence FishburneNot content to see Marvel getting all of the attention yesterday over Ultimate Spider-Man's race change, the powers that be behind "The Man of Steel" outed Laurence Fishburne as their new choice to play Clark Kent's boss, Perry White.

Of course, creators are still talking about the Spider-Man decision, too. They've just widened the conversation's scope. Check out what the last day's worth of debate has looked like, what Fred Van Lente predicts will really get readers talking and what a beautiful piece of original Jock Joker artwork looks like before it gets sent off to a buyer.

Spider-ManIt's looks like it's going to be fiery in the comment threads this week for anything involving the words "Ultimate" and "Spider-Man." Marvel revealed their new multi-racial Spidey last night, and the responses to the USA Today article, as well as on Twitter, have been full of support and, well, lack of support (to put it nicely).

Gail Simone loves the new concept. Ron Marz digs it too. Check out who'd rather see Marvel go in a different direction, as well as what Rob Liefeld had to say to Alex Ross about Captain Victory and who Ethan Nicolle would like to see cast in "Axe Cop."

The SmurfsThe crowd-drawing power of "The Smurfs" proved powerful enough to tie "Cowboys and Aliens" over the weekend. The little blue guys also beat out "Captain America: The First Avenger" in terms of box office receipts, which seemed to impress writer Javier Grillo-Marxuach.

Marvel's patriotic hero continued to get a lot of attention in weekend tweeting, though, as did Harry Potter. Both of those guys, "True Blood" and a pitch for an all-new Showtime series made this morning's highlight reel.

Cowboys and AliensBasically, you had two options if you wanted to experience "Cowboys and Aliens" last night. You could have A) found a screening to attend somewhere or B) just followed David Malki's tweets. He apparently got stuck in traffic, missing a screening, and decided to live tweet what he assumed to be happening in the film. The whole thing was too long to fit into the Report today, but you should follow the link on over to his feed and read it.

There were a few fun work tweets in the mix this morning as well. Len Wein had too much fun writing a "Ben 10" script, while Leinil Yu was force to censor his own language after receiving a script from Mark Millar.

PowersBrian Michael Bendis and Mike Oeming's tweeting odyssey on the "Powers" set continued this morning, and it seems as though the look of the new TV series may be having an impact on the comics. Bendis shared some sketch links, while Oeming described what the show is going for.

Los Angeles-based tweeters seemed a little confused last night, thanks to a riot that broke out at the premiere for a documentary called "Electric Daisy Carnival Experience." Marc Bernardin shared some insight into that, while Brian Denham mourned the loss of a naked Wolverine sketch he drew last week at Comic-Con International. Find out what happened and how much it sold for down below.

Captain AmericaAs excited as many Mac users were for the arrival of OS X Lion last week, "Plants vs. Zombies" lovers got a rude awakening if they tried running the game on their new operating system. John Layman, for one, called out with a Darth Vaderian parade of exclamation points when he saw an error message stating that the game is incompatible with Lion.

Reviews for "Captain America: The First Avenger" remain a bit kinder. Skottie Young took issue with one scene, but Dan Slott promptly rose to its defense. Find out whose side you're on, as well as what kind of comic Warren Ellis would like to see, after the jump.

Captain America The First AvengerWe shouldn't be surprised that comic book creators continue to adore "Captain America: The First Avenger." However, it seems that some of them are having a tough time finding a screening. If you have any tips, you should pass them on to Mr. Bryan Hitch.

Meanwhile, Mike Oeming apparently had no problem finding the "Powers" set in Chicago. He's been tweeting gasps and pictures of watermelon. Find out what his creative partner from the comics thinks about that, and see who's setting some lofty goals for himself on Google+. All of this and more made the day's rundown.

Jessica JonesSan Diego Comic-Con is now just a memory for 2011, but post-show tweets continued from everyone who wasn't passed out on a redeye flight last night. Jon Favreau and Olivia Wilde sounded satisfied with the reception "Cowboys and Aliens" got, and Joe Hill compared Harrison Ford's performance in the film to "Raiders of the Lost Ark."

In TV news, Marvel acknowledged that "AKA Jessica Jones" is in development for ABC. Brian Michael Bendis refused to say any more, though, being that he's busy with "Powers" goings on in Chicago. Check out what he did say, as well as whose cosplay impressed Gail Simone at SDCC down below.
