Tune in to the 2012 MTV Movie Awards

Torchwood Miracle DayWant to get comic book creators talking on Twitter? Well, starting a hash tag like #replaceawordinafamousquotewithduck is a great place to start. The feed has been loaded with movie quotes tweaked to reference ducks for the last 24 hours, and Simon Spurrier and Brandon Jerwa contributed two of our favorite entries.

Gail Simone got into the creative spirit as well. Whereas some complainers online just whine, waiting for a new iPad 3 announcement. She apparently decided to make her own. Find out how, see who's psyched for "Torchwood: Miracle Day," and see what Bryan Lee O'Malley would call a Scott Pilgrim book based on his life after the jump.

Green LanternAre you getting a little impatient waiting to find out what's up with J.J. Abrams' second "Star Trek" film? Well, Simon Pegg says you need to be patient. He won't say what's up, but he's sure that the gears are busy behind the scenes.

Something you aren't likely to see in theaters, meanwhile (unfortunately, because I'd go see this), is a "Green Lantern" movie starring Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. I'm not sure this would have to be a Hal Jordan or Guy Gardner story, but if a ring happened to fall into the plot of "Kick-Ass 2," it could be fun. Mintz-Plasse pondered such developments last night. See the retweet for yourself and check out some Harry Potter marketing confusion down below.

Michael BayTalk of a giant wombat discovery in Australia led to some creative brainstorming between Andy Diggle and Simon Spurrier today. Unfortunately, their tweet-based power meeting came to a dead end after Diggle revealed that someone else was already on top of their wombat concept.

Mike Oeming is on top of the state of the "Powers" TV show, though, and he's excited about what he's been seeing in his inbox. Find out why, see another "Supercrooks" update, and check out some awesome David Aja artwork down below.

Michael BayEvery year, the Fourth of July weekend means big crowds watching fireworks displays and lining up in theaters, and 2011 proved to be no exception. A lot of creators seemed to be stuck tweeting about their Monday workload instead of getting outside, unfortunately, but some guys, such as Freddie Williams II, weren't huge fireworks fans to begin with.

At the movies, Jamal Igle dug "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," and Gail Simone gave "Cars 2" a thumbs down. Another artist even called Michael Bay an inspiration. Find out who that was and how many times he went back to see the new TF sequel. It's all on the retweet list down below.

Oeming SupermanWith the Fourth of July still three days away, Canadians in the feed got a head start on expressing their patriotism this morning. The Twitter Report wishes them all a happy Canada Day and hopes they celebrate safely.

In other lively summer events, some DC Comics readers are planning to protest the company's book reboots in a few weeks at Comic-Con International in San Diego. Jimmy Palmiotti had a suggestion for them, while PJ Holden proposed an alternative strategy for DC. Check out what they said and see an awesome in-progress Superman sketch by Mike Oeming after the jump.

Gwyneth PaltrowYesterday, our Twitter peeps were jabbering about the new "Mission: Impossible—Ghost Protocol" trailer, but a few people finally realized in the last 24 hours that the film's director, Brad Bird, is the same guy who did "The Incredibles." Dan Slott and Marc Bernardin chewed on those implications, while Mark Millar was just happy to see Gwyneth Paltrow show up scantily clad in Vanity Fair.

Other popular topics for the night included requests for Google+ invitations from creators eager to grab an early home on Google's new social network. The service turned out to be a welcome change for R. Stevens, thanks to one key attribute that sets it apart from Facebook. Find out what that is and where "Powers" and "Cowboys and Aliens" post-production are at after the jump.

Mission Impossible The Ghost ProtocolThe new "Mission: Impossible—The Ghost Protocol" trailer has the world talking about Tom Cruise once again. Better yet, it's got Simon Pegg running around on the big screen once more, which, depending on whether you're reading Edgar Wright's tweets or Dylan Teague's tweets, could be a good thing or a bad thing.

One item of interest that's definitely good is the new "Savage Dragon" #177 cover that Erik Larsen showed off last night. A radioactive Godzillan Osama Bin Laden monster rising from the ocean became one of the most cliché jokes on Twitter following the Al Qaeda leader's death and burial at sea. Personally, I like him better as a cover subject. Check out a link to that brilliant piece of work and how Neil Gaiman felt going on Craig Ferguson's show Tuesday.

Transformers Dark of the MoonMichael Bay and his Transformers movies can be contentious subjects among longtime TF fans. "Dark of the Moon" reviews are starting to come in, though, and it sounds like the Bay is strong in this film. Robert Kirkman, however, seems to be more interested in the trailers accompanying the movie to theaters.

Other films in the tweet mix include Pixar's "Brave," which Brian Lynch made a shocking prediction about, as well as a hypothetical Jonah Hex film, which Jimmy Palmiotti has been contemplating. Find out why and where Stan Lee met a couple of droids down below.

True BloodThe "True Blood" premiere sent shockwaves through the Twittersphere last night, and shark-jumping accusations have been made. Fred Van Lente thinks the show just needs to be more honest about who its audience is though.

There was plenty stirring in the world of comics films, too, though. Joe Quesada announced that he'd be visiting a shoot for "The Avengers," and Steve Niles dropped a preview of an announcement coming this week about "Wake the Dead." Find out more about that, and check out where Rob Liefeld used to draw his X-Force layouts after the jump.

Gene ColanThe comics world lost a legend Thursday night with the passing of artist Gene Colan. Legions of creators, including Jimmy Palmiotti, Paul Cornell and many others have shared their memories of his work on "Daredevil," "The Tomb of Dracula" and "Batman."

The other trending tweet topic of the night was the new "Captain America: The First Avenger" trailer that showed up yesterday. Steve Rogers and the Red Skull both got healthy amounts of screen time, but Tool music ultimately sold Skottie Young on the film. His evaluation and Tony Millionaire's call for investors made today's mix tape of tweet highlights.
