'Human Target'January's been quite a busy month on the comics-to-movies front -- especially, it seems, on the Fox lot (for better and for worse). However, judging by today's news, it looks like Fox is also focusing on their comics-to-television wing as well.

The Hollywood Reporter breaks the news today that Fox has green-lit a pilot for "Human Target," based on the longtime DC Comics character. "Human Target" was produced by Warner Bros. TV and director McG's Wonderland Sound and Vision, and is currently being written by "Jericho" co-creator Jonathan Steinberg. The character most recently appeared in a 21-issue series under DC's Vertigo imprint. Read More...

'Scott Pilgrim'The title may be "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World," but despite the recent casting announcements, there haven't been any actual villains for the lovelorn titular character to face off against.

Well, after a series of castings for his friends, it looks like Scott Pilgrim finally has an enemy (and an annoying stalker) as Ain't It Cool News announced that Chris Evans (he of "Fantastic Four" and "Push" fame) has been cast as Lucas Lee -- a skateboarding movie star and one of the "Seven Evil Exes" Pilgrim (played by Michael Cera) must defeat in order to win the heart of Ramona V. Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). Read More...

When you're dealing with a character like Wonder Woman -- who has a long, storied history within the DCU -- it's often difficult to bring anything new to the table, even when you're an Emmy Award-winning animator like Bruce Timm. However, rather than make any drastic changes to the character in the upcoming addition to DC's critically acclaimed series of direct-to-DVD animated features, "Wonder Woman," Timm -- who serves as the film's producer -- simply decided to give the Amazon Warrior Princess a new pair of boots.

"We [looked] at a lot of the comics for inspiration," said Timm. "One of the things that we specifically liked about [comic book artist] Adam Hughes' most recent take on Wonder Woman was that he gave her kind of baggy boots – instead of those super-tight, go-go boot-type things. It’s a minor change, but it had an effect on her design."

Naturally, fancy footwear isn't the only thing fans can look forward to from the movie. After the jump Timm discusses how "Wonder Woman" will stand out from the rest of the series of DC animated features, and drops some hints about the overall story. Read More...

'Harbinger'Reporting by Tami Katzoff

Despite the fact that all of comicdom will soon know him as Victor Creed (a.k.a. Wolverine's longtime sparing partner, Sabretooth) in the upcoming "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," to many of his fans out there, Liev Schreiber is better known as a classical, Tony Award-winning actor, having appeared in numerous Shakespeare productions as well as more dramatic roles. So, taking on the role of a blood-thirsty mutant brawler came as a bit of a surprise to some of his friends and family.

"I think people underestimate the level of teenage boy in me," Schreiber recently told MTV. "When everyone said they were shocked that I wanted to be a mutant in the new 'X-Men' movie, I was not surprised at all, and would do it over and over again. The only hard part is all the exercise." 'Scott Pilgrim vs. The World'And the comic book movie casting news continues to flood the 'tubes this month, as HitFix drops the exclusive scoop that Kieran Culkin has signed on to star in the upcoming "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" film, based on the acclaimed series of graphic novels by Bryan Lee O'Malley.

According to the news, Culkin will play the role of Wallace Wells, best bud and roommate of Scott Pilgrim (who will be played by Michael Cera). This comes after a months-long lull in reports from the "Scott Pilgrim" front, so the fact that casting is moving forward serves as good news for fans who are eagerly anticipating the graphic novel's jump to the silver screen. Edgar Wright ("Shaun of the Dead") is onboard to direct "Scott Pilgrim" and has promised to honor the source material with the film. Read More...

Variety has more casting rumors today, and it seems that those rumors a few weeks back about Black Widow joining in on the "Iron Man 2" action were true, as Emily Blunt is now rumored to be the front runner for the role. Read More...
