DESCGreen Lantern” may be doing less than stellar at the box office and receiving a fair amount of negative reviews from critics, but that doesn’t mean the movie franchise is over. Writers have already been hired for “Green Lantern 2,” and it doesn’t appear that they will lose their jobs any time soon.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Brothers is still behind the franchise and pursuing a sequel. Although the movie fell 66 percent at the box office this weekend, President of Domestic Distribution Dan Fellman said that it’s typical for fanboy films to see a major dip after their opening weekend. War MachineIt sounds as if Don Cheadle will be back for “Iron Man 3" but not for “The Avengers” as James "Rhodey" Rhodes/War Machine.

When asked by Collider about appearing in any more Marvel movies, Cheadle replied, “Well the Iron Man 3 is coming back. We'll probably do that again in February and there's talk of a War Machine spinoff, which I guess, unless I get recast, I would probably do.”

Cheadle likely brought up the possibility of being recast because he’d been cast to replace Terrence Howard, who played James Rhodes in the first “Iron Man” movie. Read More...

DESCThe comic book series “100 Bullets” may have ended its ten-year run in 2009, but it could have new life in the form of a television series.

Deadline is reporting that David S. Goyer will write and executive produce the series for Showtime. Warner Brothers TV will also be producing.

Brian Azzarello, who wrote the "100 Bullets" comic book series, previously alluded to a possible cable television adaptation when speaking to MTV News in 2009, saying, “Television -- there's an idea! That's all I'll say. Television... or maybe something that's not just TV." Read More...

Christina HendricksThe “Wonder Woman” television show was unable to launch, but a potential “Wonder Woman” movie remains a possibility. Danish director, producer and writer Nicolas Winding Refn ("Bronson") has had his eye on the project for some time, and he knows what actress he’d like to have star in it.

Speaking to New York Magazine at the U.S. premiere of his new movie, "Drive," Refn said that he wants "Mad Men" actress Christina Hendricks for the role. Hendricks was also in “Drive” and has already been mentioned in some “Wonder Woman” rumors.

“If I ever get to do [the “Wonder Woman” movie], she's going to be it,” Refn said about the redheaded actress. Read More...

Another photo of “The Avengers” cast has surfaced, but this one isn’t a set photo. In fact, it’s a shot of cast members Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo teaming up with... (get ready for this)... Mötley Crüe!

Avengers

Posted over at On Locations Vocations, this photo gives us a little something fun to see from the superhero actors. Mötley Crüe had a show at Albuquerque’s Hard Rock Pavilion this past weekend, and perhaps it was kismet that “The Avengers” is being filmed in the same city. Apparently, at least three members of the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are fans of the rock band and not only watched the show, but got to pose with them, too. Read More...

The Dark Knight RisesNews related to the cast of “The Dark Knight Rises” has been trickling in quite a bit lately, but it hasn't offered too many hints about the plot of the film... until now.

Although this is only through hearsay at this point, the latest name attached to the film could be a big deal — and a BIG SPOILER. Consider this your warning!

According to Hit Fix, actor Liam Neeson was spotted on Monday filming a scene for "The Dark Knight Rises." Neeson played villain Ra’s al Ghul in 2005's "Batman Begins," the first film in Christopher Nolan's celebrated Batman franchise. Read More...

Teenage Mutant Ninja TurtlesWith the new CG “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” set to premiere on Nickelodeon in 2012, some well-known actors have been pulled on board to voice the anthropomorphized fighting turtles. The latest is Sean Astin, perhaps best known as Samwise Gamgee in the “Lord of the Rings” films, who will be voicing Raphael.

The other three main characters have also been cast, with Jason Biggs of “American Pie” fame as Leonardo, Greg Cipes (Beast Boy in “Teen Titans) as Michelangelo, and longtime voice actor Rob Paulsen (“Pinky and the Brain” and “Animaniacs”) as Donatello. Ironically, Paulsen voiced Raphael in the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” series that ran from 1987 to 1996. Read More...

Spider-Man musicalWith “Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark” finally ready to make its official Broadway debut, composers Bono and The Edge — both from the band U2 — are opening up about some of the difficulties they’ve had getting this play to work.

Speaking with The New York Times, Bono said about the production, “If we thought it would take this long, there is not a chance on earth we’d have done it.”

Besides taking ten years and costing upwards of $70 million dollars, “Spider-Man” has been plagued with bad luck, including poor reviews and the departure of director Julie Taymor. Read More...
