For a man with a substantial chunk of geek cred -- please see his publicly acknowledged "Dungeons and Dragons" loyalty -- "Fast and Furious" star Vin Diesel has remained surprisingly squeamish when it comes to comic book films, declaring that he makes his own superhero characters instead. Interestingly, it might be that superheroes aren't his preference, as the actor recently told MTV News that he's got his eye on some more villainous roles.

"I would be more apt to play a villain," Diesel revealed to MTV News. "[I'd like to play] the protagonist of a story that is also like a Marvel villain -- like Doctor Doom or something." Read More...

Michael CaineA while ago, Michael Caine told MTV News that Johnny Depp and Philip Seymour Hoffman would play The Riddler and The Penguin in a sequel to "The Dark Knight." While Hoffman has since denied the rumor, as has "The Dark Knight" screenwriter David Goyer, Caine continues to insist that at least one of those characters will be haunting Gotham City.

In an interview with Collider, Caine was asked if Christopher Nolan would return for a third "Batman" film. "I would imagine so," he said, adding, "That would be probably The Riddler [as the villain]." Read More...

Zoe SaldanaIt's never fun to lose -- especially when you're part of a loyal CIA black-ops squad that's been hung out to dry by your employer. But Warner Bros. and Silver Pictures are planning to show you the upside of being on the short end of the stick with "The Losers," the upcoming comic book movie that has just added two new recruits to its cast.

The Hollywood Reporter confirms yesterday's rumors that Idris Elba will star as Roque in the Sylvain White-directed "The Losers," based on the DC/Vertigo series. Also joining Elba is Zoe Saldana as the cold-blooded Aisha, the lone female "loser." Read More...

Will ArnettIt's hard to know what's true and what's not on a day like April Fool's Day. But unless the usually reliable Hollywood Reporter is getting in on the prankster hijinks, you can take this seemingly bizarre bit of news to the bank. "Arrested Development" funny man Will Arnett is saddling up with Josh Brolin for "Jonah Hex."

The once and future Gob Bluth will co-star in the comic book western as "a Union soldier who enlists Hex and is blindsided by the dirty fighting style of his enemies," says THR. The role is apparently not comedic. Read More...

Leonardo DiCaprioThe upcoming film "Button Man" is not related in any way to "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" -- and, contrary to earlier reports, it's not related to Leonardo DiCaprio, either.

Entertainment Weekly is crying foul on Internet rumors that the "Body of Lies" actor would star in the "2000 A.D." comic property. The news site is reporting that Leo is not attached to "Button Man" according to studio representatives. The rumor originated from a listing in Production Weekly, a print magazine that provides information on Hollywood projects. Read More...

Leonardo DiCaprioDepending on who you ask, "Body of Lies" actor Leonardo DiCaprio has been pushing all the right buttons -- so much so that he's landed the leading role in "Button Man," a brand-new movie based on the comic book property of the same name.

According to Production Weekly, "Button Man" focuses on Harry Exton, an ex-mercenary that participates in a violent underground sport known as "the game." Exton is one of several killers -- appropriately called 'button men' -- that define victory by slaying their opponent or claiming the first two joints of their victim's finger. When Harry decides to retire from the sport, he learns the hard way that his own survival is anything but a game. Read More...

'Spider-Man'"Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark" isn't the first time everybody's favorite wall-crawler has tangoed with musical interference. Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man 3" took a substantial beating from moviegoers for its reliance on singing and dance numbers. But the fans aren't the only ones reeling from the most recent Spider-flick -- in anticipation of "Spider-Man 4," the director himself acknowledged his last Marvel film's flaws.

"They really gave me a tremendous amount of control on the first two films, actually," Raimi told British magazine Empire. "But then there were different opinions on the third film and I didn't really have creative control, so to speak." Read More...
