Mike McMillian - True BloodIf you haven't been reading the "True Blood" comic book series, perhaps the direct involvement of a "True Blood" cast member might push you over the fence.

IDW Publishing and HBO announced in a press release today that actor and "Lucid" creator Michael McMillian, who stars on "True Blood" as the nefarious Reverend Steve Newlin, is lending his talents as a co-writer to the television-turned-comic book series. He'll co-author the second arc of "True Blood" alongside writer Marc Andreyko, with Joe Corroney tapped for art duties.

"Co-writing the 'True Blood' comic is a dream come true both as a performer on the show and as a longtime comic fan," McMillian said in a statement. "It's a real privilege to build on the rapidly growing 'True Blood' mythology." Read More...

Conan the BarbarianFrom arrogant swordsman to cunning rogue, there are many ways that one could describe Conan — the impossibly muscled warrior, not the redheaded talk show host — but it appears that his status as a barbarian is still the favorite descriptor.

Superhero Hype reports that the forthcoming "Conan" reboot has changed its title to "Conan the Barbarian," reflecting the original title of the Arnold Schwarzenegger-starring adaptation. It's a small change for some, sure, but for longtime fans of the property and character, it's a step into previously conquered ground. Read More...

WolverineMany fans are still scratching their heads about Darren Aronofsky's new job as the director of "The Wolverine," the standalone non-sequel to "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." But according to series lead Hugh Jackman, Aronofsky's attachment to the comic book movie wasn't just a no-brainer — it was a long time coming, as well.

"I've been trying to get Darren since 'X-Men 3,' really," Jackman told Entertainment Weekly during a recent interview. "We've been talking about this and 'Wolverine' for so long."

Jackman, who worked with Aronofsky previously on "The Fountain," described the director as "a visionary" and elaborated on some of the creative conversations they've already had. Read More...

FablesIt was announced two years ago that a television adaptation of Bill Willingham's "Fables" was headed to the ABC network as an hourlong drama, but since then, very few details have emerged on the developing series — and sadly for "Fables" fans, it appears that there's a good reason why.

Willingham told io9 in a recent interview that while he's not completely sure on the status of the "Fables" TV show, he doesn't expect that the version that was announced in 2008 is still on the way.

"The TV show that was prematurely announced is probably dead," he said, adding: "Don't hold me to that, because I don't know. Hopefully, I'll know before it airs, but I'm kind of out of the loop." Read More...

HershelWith season one in the rearview mirror, it's time to start thinking about where "The Walking Dead" will go in season two. We've already speculated that fan-favorite character Michonne will have a role to play next year, and another likely bet is that Rick Grimes and his pals will pay a visit to Hershel's farm.

Hershel Greene is many things: a farmer, a family man, a man of faith. But when the zombie apocalypse strikes, the deeply religious Hershel is forced to confront some sad truths about not just the state of mankind, but his own capacity for violence.

If the survivors end up visiting Hershel's farm, here are five actors we could see in the role. Read More...

SupermanContrary to a report from last week, it appears that Hans Zimmer, the Oscar-winning composer responsible for scoring Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight," is not composing director Zack Snyder's "Superman" reboot.

After allegedly confessing his involvement with "Superman" to Thompson on Hollywood last week, Zimmer now tells The Hollywood Reporter that there's no truth to the story: "It's like some dirty quote taken out of context. Let's just be absolutely straight here: I have never in my life met Zack Snyder."

"I met Chris Nolan once and he knows Zack Snyder and therefore I'm doing Superman," he continued. "You know that's all it is." Read More...

Michonne"The Walking Dead" is done with its first season, but fans of the comic book series can attest to the fact that there are stunning plot twists and excellent characters still on the way — not the least of whom is Michonne.

When she first appears in "The Walking Dead," Michonne is equipped with a samurai sword and two zombies shackled by chains. In other words, this is a woman who means business, proving herself capable of overcoming extreme adversity thanks to quick thinking and ruthless efficiency on the battlefield.

Because of Frank Darabont's affinity for the character, Michonne is a likely candidate to join "The Walking Dead" for season two. If she does indeed join the series, here are five actresses we would love to see in the part. Read More...

The Walking Dead"The Walking Dead" has drawn its first season to a close after only six episodes, but if you're worried about not getting your zombie fix for the next several months, don't fret — after all, the show is based on a comic book, so there's plenty of material to enjoy while "Walking Dead" is off the air. But in terms of the show itself, it's going to take some time for Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal and the rest of the acclaimed cast to resurface on your TV set.

That said, we already have some ideas about where "Walking Dead" is headed for season two, thanks to comments from the production team and our own suspicions based on the comic books. Check out our predictions for season two after the jump! Read More...

The Walking DeadReports that "The Walking Dead" writer, director and executive producer Frank Darabont has fired his entire writing staff were described as "unfortunate" and "premature" by comic book creator and executive producer Robert Kirkman, and now another colleague is weighing in on the report.

Executive producer Gale Anne Hurd spoke with Entertainment Weekly and denied the report that Darabont fired his staff writers, saying: "It's completely inaccurate."

“[In] the writers’ room, there are people that have set up other projects that will be their first priority if their own series is picked up as a pilot or if it’s a series," she said, going on to address writer Charles "Chic" Eglee's departure: "I think [Eglee] just decided that he wants to run his own show.” Read More...
